  1. I am so inspired by your story! We live in a house that is big and expensive, although it is beautiful. I dream of someday living in a smaller space, and preferably on the beach!

    • Hi Clara!
Thanks for reading and commenting. I enjoy hearing how others live and dream. Your dream sounds peaceful and fulfilling. Keep moving toward it! Best to you.

  2. Thanks for the article plug, you guys are such an inspiration! Always wishing you the best. Alex

    • You’re welcome, Alex. Thank you! Hope you are having fun living outta that backpack! I love it!

  3. Oh – this is great! I love reading about fellow tiny house dwellers in the news! You are so modest, but you are doing so much for our movement!

    • Thanks, Debra! You are so kind. I love knowing you are out there!

  4. back in the late 70’s i was left with 4 children and moved to the southern calif desert, found a 1 room cabin and settled in to raise my children there. although we didn’t have much we had a lot of fun and love. my kids went through various stages of anger, sadness for having to live a simple (poor) lifestyle, but now they look back with some happy (i hope) memories. sometimes i wish i was still back in that cabin with those four active children. you are doing great, cherish your time and memories

    • Thank you, sistamommag, for the encouragement. Anger and sadness only come from comparison. When we look directly at each moment, there is no comparison. It is all perfect and beautiful. I feel sad if I slip into thinking about what others have or what I don’t have, but what I do have is a simple and full life of love. What more do I need?!! Thank you for sharing your memories. You remind me of what a my dear friend, Priscilla, says: “These are the good old days.” Blessings.

  5. Hi
I like your simplicity, not many people willing to move from big to small house, amazing. Rahim Malaysia

    • Hi Abdul,
Thanks for reading! I am glad you were here. It’s fun to imagine you sitting at your computer so far away and reading our blog. The internet–WOW! Our simple life is much more fulfilling than our big-house life. It keeps us focused on what is necessary and important. So nice of you to leave a comment! Best!!

  6. I scrolled down Yahoo homepage and your story really grabbed my attention to know about it further, its really beautiful house you had and it is cute though 🙂

  7. Hi from Singapore!

Its great to come across creative minds. We may lose all space but our minds open up new horizons vast and wide. Kudos and keep up the motivation.

    • Well, hello! It’s true: there is a lot of space inside. Thanks for reading, Guyinthebluescarf. 🙂

  8. Your story really is inspiring and brave and it takes a strong union and a great amount of courage to go against what most view as being successful. My husband lost his job with a bank I rather not name unexpectantly without any type of benefits NOTHING we tried to sell our large suburban home but lost it anyway and purchase an 800 square foot home and we have three Kids 2 boys and 1 girl and we have never been happier this was four years ago and since then we have traveled more and really enjoyed life…the smaller space is quicker to clean and the kids spend more time outside…my family looked at us like we were crazy and now we can’t keep company out of here…everyone wants small and cozy but only the brave jump in with both feet and do it..
